What is your story?

I started doing public speaking my sophomore year of high school by MCing pep rallies and joining a competitive speech team. I'd say that's when I realized that speaking is a passion that I have. I continued MCing and competing until I was recruited by the University's speech team, then I developed an outside market for my services. Now I have a website that people can contact me through to request me at their event to perform and present regularly throughout the state. My philosophy is simple: Create a positive environment and a memorable experience for the event planner and the audience.

What is your business?

As weird as it is, my business idea is to brand myself. I'm a MC(Master of Ceremonies), and Public Speaker that has an affinity for beatboxing as well. Check out more on my website at dewaynetaylor.com

Who is your entrepreneurial inspiration OR biggest hero?

My grandfather and my uncle. They both have always been strong men determined to make their goals a reality. Growing up around them I was able to see how hard work pays off and how to prioritize to be successful.

What advice would you give to a student starting their entrepreneurial journey?

Don't give up. Listening to everyone's advice may give you the same results as everyone else. Know yourself and learn to listen to yourself. If you know you can make it happen, then you will.
