Engler CONVERSATION Series

Will Rogers once said that "there are two routes to learning -  one is by reading and the other by association with smarter people. "

The Engler Conversation series is founded on the premise that aspiring entrepreneurs can gain significant value from associating with successful entrepreneurs and learning from their experiences; the good, the bad and the ugly. These conversations, which are presented twice a year, offer Engler students the opportunity to hear the story of how a company was created. They also get the opportunity for one-on-one discussions with our invited guests. And through these conversations they will gain deeper insight into the world of entrepreneurship—while developing professional relationships of lasting value.

The series is made possible through the gift from the Paul F. and Virginia Engler Foundation as part of the Paul F. Engler Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program at the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

Next Lecture: Verne Holoubek March 30th, 7:30 p.m. at Champions Club

Verne is the founder of Holoubek Studios, beginning his business as a street artist, earning money for college. As a college senior, he created an iron-on heat transfer and became an industry legend, with many of his T-shirts considered collectibles. His enterprise became a full-scale garment production plant in Pewaukee, WI, with Holoubek as CEO until the sale of Holoubek, Inc. in 2005. Today, the environmentalist and his spouse Terri operate a 400 acre farm, 90% powered by Solar energy. He’s a 1967 grad of UNL and was a 2015 Masters Week honoree.
