What is your story?

I grew up on a farm/feedlot operation 12 miles north of Columbus, NE. I have wanted to be a large animal veterinarian since I was about four. As I have grown older and seen the need for the unification of the ag sector as well as the decline of small town populations, I have become even more motivated to pursue this career. I want to benefit the livestock sector by helping producers improve their operation while helping to unify all aspects of agriculture in one common voice.

What is your business?

My business idea is to own a veterinary practice that focuses on the livestock industry.

Who is your entrepreneurial inspiration OR biggest hero?

My biggest heroes are my parents because of their commitment to the cattle industry. They started with two pens of cattle and now own all of the cattle in their 4000 head feedyard while farming 1500 acres and being large animal veterinarians.

If your story were made into a movie, what actor/actress would portray you and why?

If my story were made into a movie, I would probably be portrayed by Reba McEntire. She is a "go-getter" and doesn't take no for an answer. She is strong willed and energetic and I think that describes me pretty well.

What advice would you give to a student starting their entrepreneurial journey?

Don't be afraid to dream big. You are capable of more than you probably even know. Don't be afraid to present your ideas to others, and don't give in when people tell you it's impossible. Trust God, confide in close friends, support others and don't be afraid to get your hands dirty or work 70 hour weeks.
