Hometown: Howells, Neb.
Major: Agricultural Economics
Minors: Entrepreneurship
Graduating: Dec. 2015
Business: ABChickens - production and processing of farm.fresh.chicken. Recently added laying hens. Idea- to eventually add a hatchery.

What is your story?

I am a small town girl that is trying to create value in the niche markets in northeast Nebraska. ABChickens is a small part of my family farm that I hope to grow with laying hens and a hatchery. By doing this I will be able to preserve my family farm and create opportunities within my hometown. My family has inspired me to create opportunities for myself. I am determined to create value for my family's farm by using what I learn during my college experience.

Who is your entrepreneurial inspiration OR biggest hero?

Michael Jordan is my hero and inspiration because he pursued his dreams and never gave up when he failed. He created a brand that is known across the world. His story shows how we won't succeed without dedication and hard work.

If your story were made into a movie, what actor/actress would portray you and why?

What advice would you give to a student starting their entrepreneurial journey?

Never be scared to be told no. It is the littlest word that makes so many people stop pursuing their dreams, instead take that no and find a way to turn it into yes. We will never succeed in accomplishing our dreams if we stop at our first no.
