What is your story?

I graduated in 2011 from High school and enrolled at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. I knew from the get go I wanted to own my own landscaping company. I worked hard in school and found an occupation installing landscapes and doing what I love. As I gained more experience I realized I wanted to start my business sooner than expected. By the end of my junior year of college I was winning business competitions and at 21 years old I began working as a small business owner near Columbus, NE. I plan on continuing my dream and maybe woodworking more.

What is your business?

I am the owner of Ox-Bow's Natural Landscapes. My business is focused on providing Nebraska-styled landscapes by only using native plants of Nebraska or the Midwest. During the winter months I continue the native theme by constructing rustic furniture made of wood native to our region.

Who is your entrepreneurial inspiration OR biggest hero?

Dave Lambe - He has helped me stay on task and really understand where my focus should be as a leader and how to take the necessary risks in order to achieve my long term goals.

What advice would you give to a student starting their entrepreneurial journey?

Don't be afraid to try something that has never been tried. Find a way to be different and be good at what makes you different. Stay positive. This world is full of things that can move you off your track of success. Make wise decisions because every decision you make is a reflection upon you. Trust God. His plan is always better than any plan you could possibly dream up.
